Default Door handle trim question

I bought leather door panels from a 986 for my 996, but the door handle trim cover has the tabs broken. Can it be attached some way, or I have to get new ones?

These tabs are broken, so nothing to hold it to the door panel. Or am I missing something?

I would just buy a new one, they are cheap enough http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=807-10

I think this is what you need, but you could read the part number off of the piece, cannot quite make it out

No unfortunately, they really cheapened these later porsches and most parts cannot be salvaged, and hence years from now the cars will not be restored and or will be incapable of being restored. However, thankfully because of the relatively inexpensive build, the parts are cheaper than the earlier generation, case in point this plastic finishing piece. (do not get me wrong, there are still very expensive parts on the boxster, like special order leather trim pieces, but the plastic is cheap!!

I just replaced both sides of these on my 98 Boxster. The passenger side was cheap at 8 or 10 bucks. But the drivers side is over $60. for the same part. I've got a spare passenger side piece if that's what you need let me know.

I just may. I will see if the ones I have can still be attached. I will likely practice painting them piano black. I want some piano black accenting in my interior and these will be some of the pieces I want in black.
