Manual (depowered correctly) steering and AutoX - 944S
Hi all,
This is a bit anecdotal but a while back I took apart and converted my power rack to manual (thanks to various folks that have documented how to do this). Apart from a small amount of play it's been great to drive around the street and even on a track day.
For AutoX though not so much. The multiple sharp turns really mean you have to manhandle the steering wheel and your arms will be killing you by the end. It's worse with the sticky tires I'm using and it can somewhat brake your concentration.
I plan on returning to powered before next season. The last thing I need is to lose control because I'm fighting with turning the car.
A proper manual rack would be better for sure but with it being an 87 and manual rack is rare for the later years.
Chris
