Equipe Rapide mirrox (mock pro solo) at Mineral wells. Big course, and new tune for c85 with 650tq available. I have never driven a car that accelerates like this

Oh man does that thing go. Drama free, too - just plants and scoots. Love it. Looks like I'll have sololive open on 6/4, hope ustream is working...

The car treats the cones as 'suggestions'. Actually there was lots of drama, first run it lit up the back end in the middle of second gear in a straight line after the start, almost lost it on the straight. It takes some real modulation now of the right pedal, I don't always know where it will go when I squeeze the trigger on the big hammer

Took FTD in the wet today! First time I've managed to take FTD with this club as we run exclusively on concrete and the r-comp guys normally just eat my lunch.

First autocross of the year and first autocross with the new Cayman. I still need to get used to the handling characteristics of a mid-engine car and learn how to properly launch the car but overall I'm happy with the 3rd place finish.

PCA San Diego Event from March 26th. Pretty fun course with some of the usual Qualcomm work arounds (lot is getting old and the surface has a lot of areas in need of repairs).

Coned away an overall win AGAIN, lol. Ah well, still had fun and that's why we do this, right? Not the overpriced trophies but 30-60 seconds of pure adrenaline?

We had an epic course today at North Carolina Center for Automotive Research (NCCAR); was 90 seconds long with a lot of time spent in pucker transitions in the 50-65mph range and was one of the most fun courses I can remember. I coned away my best run, as traditional, but so did all the other fastest drivers so it worked out even, hahaha. I even managed to not turn my GoPro on for what ended up my fastest run, but I at least had my in-car on:

SCCA event last weekend. Big set of bumps before the Chicago box made it especially interesting. There's so much more time in the car (showroom stock GT4).

Needless to say, got a lot of work to do to find those two seconds... or protest the C6 Z06... lol
Awesome run, Lex! I wouldn't be so hard on yourself. A 56.7 and 22nd in PAX (out of 172) is very respectable in this region. NNJ is by far the hardest region I've even been to and I don't think anyone can beat Daddio, but it's a good goal to have. Not to mention that there's no way for any AS Cayman to compete with a C6 ZO6 on a course like that (with a decent driver of course). I was struggling yesterday and was a full 1.4 seconds off of your time (58.1). I know there's another second or two on the table for me, but I doubt there's much more in my 2.7 base Cayman.

On a side note, you mentioned the Cayman likes diving turns. I'm just starting to figure out the Cayman and have found that it really doesn't like to turn on power; however, it does seem to like trail braking. Is this what you mean by diving turns?

We are lucky to have all this talent and the venue in our region. It was also an interesting course yesterday. We'll get those Z06s one day

By diving turns I mean fast corners where you can throw the car in and maintain it in a bit of slide throughout. I may have the terminology wrong, still learning the lingo, but that is what I call those turns. These cars seem to be amazing at maintaining the turn when you get the corner entry speed right and it usually is higher than what you think. On long sweepers, once you get the car to start to rotate with a fast entry it allows you to point it wherever you want with lifts/throttle. But that's where you can spin it too ... 95% of my spins were due to poor throttle input on exits. I also have been trying early apexes, then quick lift and getting back on power for some turns. It shaves off a bunch of distance and feels fast. I am looking to get Solo Storm next for data, so I can see if any of what I am saying actually makes sense lol. This is my first MR car and the only other car I had was a FWD, so I am still trying to figure it out, but I think it is starting to come together.
We can chat next time you visit NNJR.
