Waiting for ANYTHING to come out in my size. Every manufacturer has either a good front size like 245 or 255, or a good rear size like 285-315, but none had both. RS3's were available for about a day then sold out.
Someone just posted a set of 275/35/18 (2) and 315/30/18 (2) Rivals on SCCA Forums if you're interested. Might be worth waiting until Rival S comes out, though. http://www.sccaforums.com/forums/aft/446991
I don't know which would be worse- the 275s being a bit too small, or the 315s being a bit too big. I'm gonna err on the side of too big. Would be a good deal if I can still find some 245 rivals for the front.
Doesn't matter got to see and touch the B-stone RE-71R Hoosiers with tread blocks. And after the weekends runs the tires seemed softer and were picking up OPR.
Looking at results, the 'stone didn't necessarily dominate Dixie - though I know results don't tell the whole story.
The 'kook was on the fastest street tired car on overall PAX, and most of the top ones. Think that's due to familiarity with it?
There was a really even mix of tires. Many report RE-71R is a great tire. Danny Kao ran a ton of runs back-to-back swapping between RE-71R and ZII* and decided performance was absolutely identical on his car (DS 2015 WRX) and so he ran RE-71R because it has contingency.
This mirrors what I've seen a lot of other people say- that the RE-71R and ZII* are very very close. In which case the BS will become more popular nationally due to contingency. With a healthy mix of ZII* due to lower cost.
