http://home.comcast.net/~paxrtp/rtp2015.html This is from the forum at my local chapter. For SS and AS the Pax is better

A lot less worse than last year, that's for sure.

Good news for me, I'm thinking of running the Cayman in the local indexed class (with the new SS index).

Here's a slightly more visual representation.

My local SCCA region went to all PAX based classes. They have several combined street tire classes, of which my '06 Cayman S runs in what they call S1, along with SS, BS, and FS.

Am I looking at this backwards, or did things get worse for AS compared to SS, BS, and FS? Looks like AS is now closer to AS, whereas BS and FS are easier compared to AS.

I have to admit, I ran a few of their events last year with my bone-stock Cayman S and it was a lot of fun.

AS did not get as much help as some other Street classes (except DS) so you are right, it did get "worse" compared to those. On the other hand, the .003 difference between AS and BS is still lame. The C5Z06 is lot more than .003 faster than the standard C5, primarily because of the wheel width difference which allows it to both corner faster and make use of it's extra power and gearing.

On the other hand, the GT3 got tremendous help in SS. Man, what a slow car!
