The 24hr autox will not be until aug 30-31, but you will be about 8.5hrs away. You should have a nice time at the beach though, the tourist season will be over and it should be nice and quite. There are some good restuarants in the area if you ride up to Duck (about 15min) try out Fishbones they have good foood and better drinks.

No it is because most schools in NC go back this week or next. I went to Duck last year about this time and it was a great trip. Some of the tourist attractions like waterparks and such were closed but other than that it was great. Still alot of things to do though.

Yep, the next event I know of is the 24 heures de parking lot at Knights Stadium, just south of Charlotte, on I-77. August 30 and 31.
But if I hear of any around the OBX, I'll post them!

It's your tires. The 712's are junk for autocross. If you look at the www.vcmc.ca site, you can watch me running on 712's in the PCA event. You will also see the car oversteering A LOT compared to the S-02's on previous videos. The new MX tires are fantastic and work great in autocross, only about 0.3 behind the S-02.
Fix the tires first before you change anything else.

Hey Farzaan! - I changed the tires to Yokohama A032Rs before the last event.
However, I've autocrossed on the Ecsta 712s previously, and although they aren't great, the car didn't behave erratically until the alignment got all out of whack...
On the video we took, it is readily apparent that the car wants to drift around in one direction excessively, regardless of grade, speed, etc...
With the new alignment settings the car is predictable again. With the Yokos, it is faster. I need more time in the seat to figure out how to drive the good tires to their slip limits, apparently...
