An STS 914 would be really neat. Wonder what the odds are of finding a stock enough one? How much of a nightmare is the fuel injection?

Looks like we'd want a 73 2.0 liter. (no cats, less other emissions equipment, more power, slightly lighter). Wonder if you can get 7.5" wheels and 225's on it?

Find out what is popular in the groups that you autox with. It's always good to have other people who have the same car, to compare your times, mods vs benefits, extra help when things break etc.

Come visit PCACWR up here in Vancouver. We have a great venue. We only have 3 dates this year, but in the last years we had between 5-8 events. We've also had events where each driver would get 10-13 runs each on a 65-75second course!!

Best of all, we don't have any classing at all. No mod *****. No Pax or indexed times. No trophies. Just raw times. Racing against yourself, and friends, for fun.

Plus, if you're willing to trade seat time in the motorglider you can co-drive my car. lol.

easy.

DFI Cayman. S or R. Stick or PDK. your choice.
Set it up properly and you can be a national contender.

981, maybe; 987, maybe not so much. A few experienced people have dabbled with 987.2s nationally and given up on them. Remember that the Cayman S's go into Super Street / Super Street R, which means that they have to compete with your 997 GT3 -- that's a tough row to hoe.

Unless someone can hack the PSM programming (for non-SCCA autox), I have zero desire for the PSM cars. I'd rather start with a 996 GT3!

PSM is a lot less intrusive on cars with Sport Chrono+

Sadly, I'll have to drive one before I believe it...

I thought sport chrono was just a lap timer package and 'sport' button that remaps the throttle?

Am I mistaken?

Sport+ also opens up the engagement window for PSM, both with PSM on and PSM off. You can get quite a bit of rotation with PSM on now, but will stop you from spinning if it keeps coming around. Intervention is delayed further with Sport+ enabled as compared to normal street driving.

On PDK cars, Sport/Sport+ also remaps the shift points and prevents 7th gear from being automatically selected. In normal mode, PDK is quite "aggressive" about upshifting to higher gears/low RPM under low loads for fuel economy reasons. The laptimer part of SC is actually almost useless, but the other bits (esp on PDK cars) is definitely noticeable and worthwhile.
