Another update. I ran at the DIXIE match tour and was able to compete easily with the guys on Hoosier A6s. I was behind the AS lead by 1.2 seconds but he was a multi-time national champ. I got 3rd out of 6 or 7 folks.

A few folks were on R1-S and finished as high as the top 10 pax I believe (James Feinberg in D Stock).

knfeparty: Sounds like you had great results with these tires! do you have a picture of your front wheels with these tires? I am trying to see if I can fit a 255/35 on the front of a my 996TT that has 8" front rims, my car is lowered and I am running -2.5deg of camber so I might have a bit more clearance than a stock car.

I have 245/40s on the stock 8" wide rim with 5mm spacers and they are definitely too narrow to be competitive. I think 275s could fit if you put the effort in to mount them and got low profile (<40).

255s should be no problem.

Better use up the R-comps this year...stock class next year is changing to "street" class, and R-comps are gone among other things.

Yeah, I saw that yesterday, that's great news finally stock class is actually stock, I am sure Hoosier is not happy about this...

Yeah the 996 is so much better on r-comps, especially in regards to braking. I will really miss them.

So far this new Street class is just a proposal, but I think we can assume something very close to what is proposed will be adopted since stock classes are disappearing fast, especially at the local level.

The latest hot street tires are getting really nice, obviously not R1-S nice, but the BFG Rival is a blast to drive on. I can't wait for them to fill out there available sizes.
