Do you have to be running Toyos to qualify for the TOYO PAX shootout thingy?

Might want to BOLD that info about the BASE restrictions/when you need to be on the list etc.

While its unlikely I could make it down, it sounds like a fun event. Any idea how many participants there would be? 100 ppl? more?

We get around 100 participants to our regular autocrosses, which is down from two years ago when we averaged 130-150. I'm thinking we'll probably have 120-150 or so, but that's just a SWAG. It really is a great venue. 54 people signed up already, including two Rennlisters (myself and Slantnose). We need more Porsches! So, c'mon and get some practice on concrete before nats! Sorry, though, no OPR to practice on

Toyo is a sponsor; you don't have to be running Toyos. Top 16 drivers Saturday (by PAX) will shoot it out. I'm not sure about contingencies.

If you plan to come, MAKE SURE YOU ENTER YOURSELF AND ALL GUESTS ON TIDEWATER SPORTS CAR CLUB'S BASE ACCESS LIST!! otherwise you won't be allowed on base. It's quite painless to get on base if you're on the list; take Shore Drive to Gate 3 (Helicopter Road) and bear right into the big truck parking lot- the commercial gate is on the back of the parking lot, you'll probably see a few other autocrossers in line. Show you ID to the guard, and you're on. To get to ACU-4, go straight through the light and keep going straight. It will turn at the beach and wind around, dead-ending right at the entrance to the ACU-4 ramp. Please, please, please strictly obey the base speed limits! Not 5 over, but right on, especially the 15mph zone through the gate(s). It's not like a normal speeding ticket, it's a federal magistrate ticket, and you don't want to deal with that. Plus, it looks really bad for the club; we really like this venue and don't want to lose it.

One week left for registration- reg closes Aug 18th. Registrations after this won't get a t-shirt or lunch. You must get on the base access list by the 18th, or you won't be getting on base. (It's free to get on the access list if you're wavering about driving down.) You can register for just one day, too.

93 drivers signed up thus far. Sounds like there's going to be a LOT of prizes given away in addition to the set of Toyos for the winner of the top-16 pax shootout.
