Big deal, he needed to bring a real man's car like the one in this video:

You can see video of a Smart doing autocross http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/d...ndSmartCar.flv (from the MBCA chapter where I used to live)

Note - the Cayman that came turned in a 57.59.

Not only that, but they look like "early" offset, vs late offset! Apparently you can with a modded suspension and cantilevered slicks!

I watched a Mazda 3 get airborne and roll several times last season, right in front of me at my flag station. It was not pretty. Part of the problem (we think) was a bar rear sway bar choice on an otherwise fairly stock car. Once a car is allowed, it's tough to speicify that they can't mod it, put sticky tires on, etc. You can't overcome physics, and that little Smart car is definitely going to be more tipsy than traditional cars due to the proportions/wheelbase and ride height. It may be engineered well in stock form, with street tires on regular roads. When weekend warriers start changing things to go faster, though, the factory testing goes out the window.

i dont thing that car can pass all laps. at one of the curves, it will definitely lean enough to roll. and ofcourse wont be allowed because of low width
