"NARP" = Not Actually a Real Porsche? That's classic. . . I'm in the middle of a clutch replacement on my new (to me) '89 944 S2, and haven't actually taken it autoXing yet (can't wait!). Also NARP, but I love it.
If I'm not mistaken, Miatas are the main competition in E Stock. . .

Around my area, a guy in a Fiat X-1/9 has been kicking the 944's and 924's asses. Apparently he's the original owner and he knows exactly how the car drives. He's been autocrossing it for years.
My goal is to beat him in points next season. The first event I did with my 944 (on day 12 of ownership) I came in third to the X-1/9 and a 924s both prepped (tires, struts, etc.), and I was down only .75 of a second. I ran on street tires and 24 year old suspension, so next year I plan on stirring it up.

I finished 14th at Nationals in '07 with my '88 924S (before it was totaled). Jodi came in 9th and her co-driver, Anna, came in 13th. It was a very fun car to autocross. I did not have a LSD. It weighted 2650 if I recall correctly. I always ran with the sunroof removed.
I added the M030 and sport seats and 7x15 rear wheel options and I removed the rear window wiper. I still have the M030 parts and sport seats if someone wants to build an E stock car. I don't need them since I bought a '89 S2.
Here's what I got from Porsche to help me prep my 924S. Unfortunately, I cannot get them to give me the same documentation for my S2.
Then I used the PET catalog for details of the options.
