well, I'm not surprised (I posted "2 wheel off the ground " message earlier here, but moved it to another forum due to lack of response...).
I think the problem is with the r-compound tires getting better and better, and cars getting taller and taller. I'm not sure if this is a big problem in general, but I would make it mandatory to run stiffer than stock suspension when using r-compounds. But that's just my opinion.

I was debating with myself on whether to go to that event, as i walso had an event on Sunday. Didn't go, as it was close to 100F. But I spoke to a number of people who were there on Saturday.
Hard to tell what happens, but, yes, it's pretty bad. Devens is a very safe place, as is the NESCC club.

My biggest concern is for the site (since I know the driver of the Lancer is OK). There are preciously few good sites available for autocrossing, and Devens is a great place.

This is the site I go to all the time. I've seen plenty of people, myself
included, make driving errors with Porsches (heck, this is the safest place
to drive 101% after all). I've never seen a porsche even come close to
rolling, and most of us are on r-compound tires. There are not even any
curbs or whatever, but where the maintained pavement ends it is a bit
rough.

is there a video of the flip?
I saw a Lotus Elise with slicks go up to between 45 and 60 degrees on two wheels
last year on sticky concrete... Just a sharp semisweeper, not any tail-loose slalom
end either.

There is no video, and pictures are even hard to come by. Read all three pages of the link at the start of this thread and you'll be shocked with how people are reacting to this.

Poeple are reacting very predictably. Most are concerned with the health of the driver. Some have curiosity of the children wanting to see a train wreck. The rest of us, who know and use the site 25-30 times a year are praying that the driver is OK and teh site doesn't disappear.
Sorry for the soap box.

I had a Neon almost flip on the corner I was working at Nationals a few years ago. Luckily the driver was smart enough to give up his run, get out of the throttle and steer the car back on 4 wheels. Another year at Nationals I saw an A-mod car roll, but what do you expect when you put a big wing on top of car at a windy air base.
A couple years ago a friend was instructing at an autocross when the driver lost it through the lights and stayed in the throttle. He slammed into a concrete base light poie and shoved the right front tire into the passenger area breaking the instructors leg. Everyone including the sheriff that showed up chaulked it up to complete driver error.
