Default Newbie, got questions!!!

Hey Guys,
I going to try Autocross, YEAH!! The helmet, open faced or full? Tell me what you prefer and why? Full seems restrictive, but I want to here it from people with experience...YOU GUYS!!

Thanks for your take on this matter. I looking for a helmet and I don't what I looking for.

If you intend on doing anything other than autocross, such as DE's and track events, id go with full face.

Open face is a bit more comfortable in the heat (though thats not saying much...) while your sitting on the grid waiting your turn. Open face is also nicer if you wear glasses like me, so you dont need to constantly take your glasses off to remove your helmet.

Me...i bought a hybrid helmet. Its not exactly full face in that it has no video, yet it does have the piece that wraps around your jaw.

Others with more experience can give you a better answer .

1. Open face are cheaper.
2. Make sure it's Snell rated for 2000 or higher, or your club might not let you use it.

I think an open face for an enclosed car is fine for most autoX and DE's, in an open car I would prefer a full faced. Yes, make sure it's Snell 2000 or better. Try them on, make sure they fit well with glasses or sunglasses if you're going to wear them, they should be snug but comfortable.

Enjoy,
