I took part in an AutoX last September with NNJPCA and plan on attending at least a couple more this year. Only one problem...
I have several helmets as I am also a bike nut, however being around 6'2" I found that with the helmet on I had to lean my head to the side to avoid hitting the roof.
I tried lowering the seat fully and opening the sun roof but nothing seemed to help.
Does anyone else have the same problem? If so, how did you fix it?
lower (change the seat brackets) or change your seats, thats what I had to do as I'm 6ft 4, else in twenty years from now your should have an extra 1 inches of headroom.
However for the small number of events that I plan to attend I don't really feel that it is worth the expense and hassle involved - it's easier for me to bend my neck for 45 seconds.
I was hoping that someone would tell me about a helmet that was not as 'thick' as my motorcycle helmets but was still valid.
do you have a full face or open face helmet? maybe an open face might make you feel more comfortable and less restricted. I think NNJR has a few to lend.
I just went through the same issue. The helmet to look for is an Arai. The shop lined up several different manufacturers and the Arai helmets were about an inch or so lower.
