How competitve are you guys with your 924s's in autocross?
Glen Hernandez trophied several times at the SCCA national championships in his 924, although consensus is that the car's a bit slower overall than the class-leading Toyota MR2s.
Yep, I am not suprised by that. There is a Toyota MR2 in our region that is not only winning E Stock but usally has the FTD or close to it. I my case it must be the driver and not the car!!
I have the 15 inch phone dials on my 1988 924S. I've seen on this site that I can run 205/50/15 on it for track use, but would that lower the car too much for the street? When I read the specs my current 195/65/15s have a circumference 0f 25.1 inches but the 205/50s show at 23.1. That seems like it means that the car would run two inches lower, is that correct?
Looks like the circumference (the measurement if you wrapped a tape around the outside) is 7.6% smaller with the 205s. That means at 100mph on your speedo, you're actually going 92.4mph.
For the height change, you look at the radius - the distance from the axle center to the ground. The top doesn't matter. The car will sit 1" lower, and have a 1" larger fender gap.
