Help me class my car.
CNAC Rules
Appendix
When signing up for Super Slalom, I was asked which class am I in.
So far I'm in either Stock Class C or C Super Stock/Street Prepared.
Stats are:
Porsche 944 8V
2.5 L
Mods or what I done to the car that may affect the class.
7" front/ 8" rear 16 rims, no offset change. Originally the car came with 7" front and rear 15".
18mm rear sway bar. Mine had no sway bar but an option for 14mm in this year.
22.5mm front sway bar. 20mm was on before.
Sway bars were done in the last week.
Have I got 2 points or 3 points added?
TIA
Donald
All above parts came from a 86 944 Turbo.

take two points for the sway bars. Nothing for tires. 16" wheels were option for NA.
You may also be able to take less points for the sway bars if you can show they were optional on any year 944 NA, but since they are two points allowed just take those two.

Okay this is the response I got from one of our Club Members.
1 pt. for each of the swaybars, 1 pt. for any non-stock wheel size.
The optional wheels, did they come as part of a package? Say they were part of a sport package, and that package came with:
-16x7" front, 16x8" rear wheels
-rear spoiler
-leather seats
-limited slip differential
In that case, you'd have to add the spoiler, leather seats, and LSD for the wheels to be considered Stock. The car must have been available straight from the manufacturer in exactly your configuration for you to not take a prep. point for the wheel change. You can't cherry pick pieces of option packages.
But, if you could check off a box on the original Porsche order form for 16x7" and 16x8" wheels, you're fine!
So my question is was 16" wheels a separate option for 1983 NA?

Well seems stupid, but I know they were options for some years. Not sure abotu 83.
Anyway check on the main 924/944 forum. Someone probably knows the answer better.
I am sure those wheels were some seperate option . Heck I have 16" 924 Turbo option wheels.
PS.. 15" wheels are faster than 16's anyway.
Oh,, if you can run 16" wheels on an 83, but can on an 87 then that is just stupid. The cars are the same? My advice is just to say there were an option and forget about it. I am 100% sure the widths are fine since 8's were optional in all years.

Thanks,
My plan is to use the cookie cutters in the future. The tires on there now aren't that great, but okay.
Maybe I'll burn them off and get new ones later.
I have to drive 160 miles return for every event, and my 16's have better tires.

1 point for the 8X16 was not an option for the 83
1 point for the rear sway bar, 14mm was only offered
21.5mm and 23mm front bars were an option
I made PDF of the Porsche PET if you want to take a look.
