AutoX Street class wheel rules question
I would run the Yokos on the rear regardless of whatever you do and that IMO means 20x10.5 rears. However you could double stagger and run 19x8.5 fronts with something like an RT660. The 19x10.5 is a unicorn in the right offset so I think I might just avoid trying until I'm convinced my testing on 19x11 rears on various tires at PCA events dictates not using the Yokos.
EDIT: I forgot to add Apex Wheels is coming out with a 19x10.5 ET44 rear that works. I'm working with them now to see if they can do a batch of 19x8.5 ET50 front wheels for the 718 so look for a possible group buy in the future.

Tom,
I very well may believe the Yoks may be the tire answer to what performs best. I'm a big fan and have bought three sets for two cars. They put power down fantastically, and transition well but they do like camber up front, wear ridiculous fast, have no contingency, and have limited sizes. I may consider the GY SC3 based on Tony Chow/TR Devin's comments on them but also know they tested my Bridg/hama combo and found it to be faster on their car but with alarming wear. I think next year will offer more options which may make it the wild west.

I will say that I appreciate your efforts with Apex on getting a them to do a batch of legal wheels and will hold off and see how that materializes (ie participate). I agree their 19x10.5 ET44 rear will work and how they see the light to do a batch of 19x8.5 ET50 front wheels for the 718 in the future. I suggested that they could likely lock in a number of sets if that were the case in my conversation with them. Hearing it from more people makes this more likely.
I got their response today. They will be listening for interest in the 19x8.5 ET50 wheels after their release of the 19" wheels next month. I'll post up a reminder to email them if you would be in the market for them. They might actually need to be ET54 to include the GT4 as I think they are ET61 stock?
I'll follow up at your suggestion but definitely am buying a second set of wheels. I'm find with an ET 54 if that brings in the GT4 crowd. Smart move actually. Might be tricky to find 4mm spacers if you want to go to the outside allowances but it's a compromise I can deal with. Even if I transition my PS4S off the 20" wheels and use them as dedicated Yokahama wheels, I'll get this set of 19"s as I really like the gearing improvement and am hoping for a crop of new tires offered in good 19" sizes. We need to get more folks to consider this once it is confirmed as you indicated. Your statement mirrors completely the time table they discussed with me.
