Want a GT3/4 but can’t help but think a 987.2S would be a really fun dual duty HPDE/STU car at 1/3 the price

Can the 991's even run in SSR? Didn't think we could run slicks without going to a deep sump oil pan, and didn't think that was legal. I've so got the wrong car (991.1 Carrera 4S). It gets even worse for SCCA Time Trials.

All non-GT3 991.1s are legal in SSR, as are all non-R/Turbo/Turbo S/GT2/GT3 991.2s.

I know it's legal to run in ssr. I just didn't think you could run a 991 on slicks without risking starving your engine of oil.

Lots of 991GT3 running purple crack with no issues. The 991 9A1 motor does not have oiling issues. It has never been stated why the no slicks allowed is in the manual but the current supposition is the RWS won't handle the grip from slicks.

Thanks Peter. Maybe I'll give it a try. Will get my butt kicked, but should be fun. Few more weeks and then TT. Going to get my butt kicked there with Andy Hollis in a McLaren also. Oh well. I could drop down to T2, but that doesn't sound as much fun.

If Andy brings the 14C like he wants to its ability to compete without CEL limp modes might make it interesting. If he brings the 570S then game over and the rest of us are running for pride and a podium finish.

Either way I'm running for pride. Looks like the MP-124c is excluded from running.

Which is crazy as excluding 12C as it doesn't exclude the 570S, 630S, 991.2 GT3RS, 991.2 GT2RS etc. Yep pride it is for me and beating Casey in the GT350. LOL

Haha. Me too. He is a better track driver then me, but he is going to be running RE11s, so maybe I'll have a chance. Hopefully they will get classing figured out for next year because a lot of it doesn't make sense. Dont think ECU tunes should be allowed in stock class either. A lot of stuff to pull together in one year. Hopefully a work in progress.
