Default Add Dension to PCM or replace head unit

Been back and forth on this so wanted to see others opinions. I have a 2007 gt3 with the factory PCM nav deck and was trying to decide if I should just add the Dension 500s bt so that I could have the ability to play music from a USB stick or phone (rather than carrying tons of CDs) or if I should replace the whole head unit with something like the alpine in-z928hd 8" screen. I'm not looking to change speakers or the factory amp, while I know the sound can definitely be improved, that's not what I bought this car for so I'm happy with how it is.

I have the Gateway 500. Works great.
If you go aftermarket, you will lose sprorts chrono if you have it and no in dash display if that matters.

That's what I was wondering. I was told sport chrono and in dash display still works but I'm wanting to confirm this as I don't want to lose those

The chrono is activated by the stalks on the steering column. Times that show on the tach display will still be there but all proprietary info on the radio display is obviously gone.

Added the Dension 500 and BT module to my 7GT3 and love it. Takes a little getting used to how to operate the various menus, etc, but once you do, it's a great device. Nice to be able to listen to my ipod (direct wired), stream Pandora via BT, and take calls.
