I bought the Sony 55 inch 4k in September 13. I also bought the 4k content hard drive. It is amazing. Picture is dramatically improved versus 1080p.

4k Sony hard drive content sucks though. Very little available.

Btw. I hated 3D until I got this tv. 3d depth is amazing versus my last 3D set.

Yeah I have the same set, which I just got for 3900 as opposed to my usual over-paying early adopter BS. I do love it though....

Late summer/ fall LG is releasing 4K OLED. I have not been blown away by a lot of the 4K led sets. Seeing the OLED 4K was unbelievable.

Hmmmmm.....................

I just looked at the Sony 55 and 65's yesterday in 4K. They sure have beautiful color and a crisp picture.

I left without buying one to see what RLers did lol.

I did however get sharked for the Xbox 1 and all the goodies for my daughter for Christmas.

What is your opinion now of these after having them in for a few months guys?

Thanks.

3D and curved TVs are snake oil. UHD TVs are The Next Big Thing.

My suggest is to wait till after Black Friday, which is when more UHD sets will appear, as the supply chain needs to get rid of all their HD inventory. And go at least 70" to take advantage of the better looking picture. And, if you aren 't going to mount it on a wall, budget a larger stand. That is my next purchase, before the TV.
