Default Older XM Radios Compatible with New SiriusXM?

I have an older Pioneer head unit that show it is XM capable.

Do I need to buy a separate module to activate the satellite radio feature?

Currently there is no XM option displayed when I scroll through the output (AM/FM/CD) options.

Yes, you just need an additional radio adapter and XM antenna $49.99
Call Crutchfield with your Pioneer radio model and they can assist.
