Default Pro-Ject Turntable

Does anyone have comments, good or bad, about the Sumiko Pro-Ject Xperience Classic turntable? Priced around $1500 .. is it worthy of a purchase?

Look up reviews on sites like Audiogon, real end users. Then check 6moons and sites like them, they tend to be a bit more independant.

I have a Music Hall, which is made in the same factory as the ProJects, but they are different. The Music Hall 7.1 would be the equivalent price wise to the Xperiance. I like the Music Halls for the motor being independant of the turntable and the heavy acrylic platters. They claim further vibration isolation by the use of multiple plinths, as components can be mounted independant of each other. Does it really work? Heck, I'm no engineer with testing equipment. It sounds good to my ear. If you look used, you should be able to pick up something from VPI, which are also highly rated.

I have had good experiences with the ProJect products...Turntables and phono pre-amps. I think they offer great value. Music Hall and Rega are in the same catagory.

A local to me (Advanced Audio, Tacoma WA) has a VPI Scout on sale for 1300, regularly 1900. Just saw it today.
