Default Ipod player - amp

I'm not an audiophile, but would like to buy a tube or hybrid amp for my Ipod touch to use in my home. I'm venturing into an area where I have no knowledge, but I'm trying to come up with something that is not too expensive (a budget of about $100-500). I've looked over the all in one "boxed" units - Bose, B&W, etc. but really want a unit that is visually striking that sounds decent and is different. I was hoping to use my current old school speakers. Am I just out of luck or can anyone here help?

The Peachtree Music Box is a great sounding little unit. It's a little more than you budgeted but probably worth the extra money.

Finally, someone posted a reply. Peachtree - I'll look into it. Thanks. I have some X-mas money burning a hole in my pocket.

Look up Audioengine 5 and Aktimate powered monitors, as well.
