Anyone try an iPad yet?
Hey guys,
I've got a 2003 996 with a stock Bose package. I'm looking to get a hookup for iPhone/iPad. I was going to do just a Dension gateway or something like that. But then I started thinking about maybe doing an iPad mount or something.
I've seen hints of things like this: http://www.autoblog.com/2010/05/03/s...ash-mount-kit/, but I haven't found anything that's actually readily for sale.
The iPad also feels a bit big, bc I have a manual and there's just not a lot of room, even if I were mount it vertically.
My 996 is a cab too, so I'd want it to be easily removable (or I guess hardwired in so well that it wouldn't disappear if I left the top down in a parking lot).
Has anyone ever heard of an iPad + 911 setup that looks good? Any other advice on the best iDevice integration for an 03 911?
Thanks!

In all seriousness, we use the ipad like a standard sat-nav on trips. Map out directions, play music, look up places to eat.
I'm not talking about playing Angry Birds or watching Scarface on the freeway, I'm talking about an upgraded mounting point for a device. It's presently mounted on my wife's lap, but the center console has advantages that the lap doesn't.
Let's not get too bent out of shape here.
