Base 981 Cayman Speaker Question
The car was ordered new with the base entertainment until (CDR?) and 4 speakers. Tweeters in the dash and a single speaker in the door. I purchased a ‘plug and play’ replacement from SCR Distribution in the UK as I did not want to mess about with splicing wires. I also bought the option for upgrading to 6 speakers as I have the enclosure in the door. SCR Distribution confirmed that they would provide the wires to enable the upgrade.
Well, I do not have the wiring to connect the two door speakers the factory harness connector. I can only connect the bass speaker, not the mid. I have contacted SCR Distribution multiple times to get support but my emails are ignored. You cant even call them up!
So my question is how do I connect the 2 door speakers together to the factory harness? Is it:
1. Connect the mid to the bass with the speaker terminals and then the bass to the factory harness.
2. Have a custom splitter from the factory harness to split the signal and connect the bass and mid separately.
I appreciate (and hoping) that this may be a simple question that the community can help with but I am not understanding what is the right thing to do. And as I said, SCR Distribution has failed to support me when they said originally that they can provide all of the right connections to complete the install.
Attached photo currently has the bass speaker connected to the factory harness and the mid unconnected.
Many thanks in advance for your help everyone.
