Default DVD failure in PCM 3.1 2014 Cayenne ?

I am rebuilding my PCM 3.1 after hdd crash. Installed new SSD, tried to load NAV DVD and nothing. Drive doesn't load the disk, eject button doesn't work. PCM still alows me to select DISK - but nothing happens. Looks like there is no power to DVD drive in PCM. Drive PN is 327000-1350A700 aka dv-05-35 I see there are replacement drives available on EBAY
Should there be any status lights on DVD drive ? Is there a way to test the dvd drive ? Does it really fail like that with out any signs of life ?

im having the same problem after HDD failure. My DVD drive is unresponsive. Did you ever figure out what the issue was?

Nope, took it apart - nothing looks off, but DVD still not functioning. Scanned PCM for errors - didn't fine anything about dvd disabled . The current plan is to figure out how to do software install with USB
