I’ve been following some of the attempts to get the PCM4.0 working in a 991.1 and it seems the closest we can get still doesn’t quite cut the mustard because the map in the instrument cluster won’t show up. That’s a bit of a deal breaker for me.

We have some good 3p solutions to solve the CarPlay integration problem, but these are let down IMO by the poor quality color and frame rate display of the PCM3.1.

This got me wondering, how differently does the screen from the 4.0 interface with the box of the 3.1, and could we simply swap the screens over and use the 3.1 boards/innards with a 4.0 screen.

When I installed the Mr 12volt unit recently, only a single ribbon cable connected the box to the screen. I don’t know what the back of a 4.0 screen looks like so if anyone knows. Please shout out.
