Default CDR-210 Power Cycling In and Out

Hi, all. I have a new-to-me 996 C2. When I picked it up, the CDR-210 head unit didn’t work, but that was solved by a new fuse. Now, though, it will only turn on after I remove and replace the faceplate, and even then the power cycles in and out. And to stop it, I have to remove and replace the faceplate again.

Some hopefully relevant notes: installing another new fuse didn’t do anything; the cycles are at a regular cadence which makes me think this isn’t a matter of a loose wire; and when not being used, the buttons don’t light up with the rest of the dash when the headlights are turned on.

Any advice is appreciated. I’m headed into a shop next month for some work and would love to have something a little more substantive to tell them other than just a description of the problem. Thanks!

I’m guessing your CDR-210 unit is faulty.
