Amplifier remote wire
Hi folks,
I'm in the middle of a pcm4 retrofit and I'm having a little issue with the ask amp popping on start up. Has anyone successfully changed out the pcm3.1.head unit and kept the ask amp set up. I know the obvious answer is to ditch the amp but I'd like to retain it if possible just because it's there.
The pcm 4 doesn't use the ask amp typically and amplifies internally. The pcm 3 has an amp remote wire to switch on the ask amp but the pcm4 only has a power on output pin. I'm using it and it's working but I'm getting a little bit of interference and a pop at start up and shutdown. I'm not clear on whether it's a 12v output or less.
Is this a voltage or current issue or do I need to add a ground loop isolator into the mix. I tried adding a pair of 1k ohm resistors but the amp wouldn't turn on.
Any thoughts or support appreciated.
Thanks
