Putting the ISO file on the USB will not work. You definitely need to unpack the ISO file onto a USB or burn the ISO to a DVD using an ISO burner program.
but I am still not 100% sure I’m using the correct ISO files. Do you by chance have links to the proper files? thank you! |

do you happen to have the files that for sure work? I believe I have successfully downloaded the 4.76 update then it asked for more software using this:https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sV...smE7jBXCngUn8p - I found what I believed was correct and it went good till right at the end. using this:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sV6...BXCngUn8p/view I’ll be honest… idk what I’m doing! Seems if I had the right info to download, I can get it done?! I really appreciate your help! if there was anyone willing to help with a HDD-SSD clone that would be greatly appreciated!! I’m not scared to pull it apart - but I’m not very computer savvy. How are yall setting up the USB? I’m told there are 3 possibilities: 1) place the .ISO file from google drive directly onto the USB like a hard drive 2) unpack the .ISO and place all of the individually contained files onto the USB 3) Use some sort of PC program to actually burn the .ISO to the USB drive to make it a bootable drive. I tried this with a program called Rufus and it didn’t work as the .ISO is in a proprietary format it didn’t recognize any and all help or guidance is GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Thank you! https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...d7ae8a20a.jpeg Current PCM situation… that’s all it does lol |

You may or may not have the correct program to update but it sounds to me like your hard drive has bad sectors which will not allow you to complete. That is usually why you are having the problem to begin with.
I don’t have a donor…. yet… but I’m willing to beg 😂 so you speculate my HDD is gone? Or is there a way to repair or correct the sectors? |
Some people in this thread have tried to “fix” their current drive but I don’t recall an instance of a success. However I seem to recall some who cloned their current drive and then ran the update disk and had a successful result. Failing that the only solution seems to be to obtain a cloned drive from someone else. I would suggest that you clone your current drive to an SSD, run the update and see if everything is back to normal

If it is a cloned working drive using the decades old command line "dd" program (or some of those slightly more user friendly GUI programs that use dd as the backend) , there should be no need to run any kind of update unless you feel like making a version update because a clone would be a bit to bit exact copy of your old drive.
I am not sure how to clone but I’m not afraid to give it a shot! Do you know what SSD to copy to? Or should I find a link to an SSD in the forum somewhere? I have already updated something (I think it’s 4.76) and now stuck in an “Emergency Update Screen” - I really wish I knew I was trying to download the right content for this. I don’t know the “Right” software - do you or anyone else have a link they they know works? https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...8fbe2125e7.png This is my screen - and this is where it stops the update. Notice the Date 12-June-15.. I really am suspicious about this being an “update” or “Up-2-Date”. thank you for your help and insight! |
Cloning a bad drive should give you a bad drive. You'll need to start from an ISO image of a good drive.

Wife just got 2013 Cayenne. It was never reported in the PPI but the HHD is dead.
We have an ISO of the PCM upgrade but it doesn't matter since the drive has os many bad escorts that we can't clone it. Can someone help us out? I'll gladly send the new drive and will pay you for the help. Really want to to be able to experience her, "new car," properly. |
If no one is doing this now I'm happy to send out SSD drives but I'd need a good US drive to begin with as my drives only have AU maps

If you are computer-inclined, I uploaded a Clonezilla of the @ELCID86 disk image here: PCM 3.1 v4.76 Clonezilla Go to Clonezilla.org to download Clonezilla. Once you have the Clonezilla live iso or zip file, please follow this Live CD/USB doc to put it on the USB boot media. Put the unzipped PCM files from the linked zip file above in \home\partimag\Pcm (or folder name of your choosing) so you can access them directly from your Clonezilla bootable USB. Use the device-image option and the restoredisk function to overwrite your new SSDD with the image. There are further instructions here: Restore Disk Image If you found this useful, drop a reply so I know it's been helpful to someone. |
I can make you a clone of my functional drive. PM me

Help!!
I am now having the same issue. Map won't load and PCM reboots every few minutes. I assume it's the hard drive. I would like to send my PCM to @jslo but can't send messages. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Follow the instructions a few posts up and make your own hard drive. Then run the update DVD. All the information you need to get your PCM running again is in this thread.
This is the direction I used to get mine back! I bought an SSD from Best Buy and a SATA/USB cable and had some help from a computer savvy friend. Works perfectly!
