PPI In San Jose Cali
Hello Everyone,
I'm in a bit of a bind, found the exact 997 Turbo I'm looking for but due to work can't get away to personally go look at it. I was wondering if anyone knows of any shops in or around San Jose capable of doing an in depth PPi on a 997 Turbo. I'd prefer to deal with a dealer in that area but am open to independent specialist as well.
Appreciate any help and recommendations.

Depending on where the car is, I use BR Racing in Los Gatos (south of San Jose)

Just got off the phone with the guys at BR racing, seem like great guys but I need guys who also measure the paint of the car. The car is pretty low on miles so I'm more concerned with paintwork than mechanical.

I haven't been here myself, but several car enthusiasts at my work's (Apple) auto club recommend it and I plan to take my car there for spark plug work in the next month or two:

I spoke to the owner Bob about a PPI for my 997.1 Turbo which I bought last November. The seller wasn't willing to drive down from the peninsula to Sunnyvale so I had to get my PPI elsewhere, but Bob still spent a good 10 minutes with me on the phone describing what he does in their PPI and what I should be looking for when I took to the car to another shop for a PPI.
The quote was a bit pricy (I think around $500-550), but it's a very thorough PPI that takes 3-3.5 hours.
I'm not sure if they do a paint thickness check, but give them a call.

+1 RMG. Did all my Porsche work for 20 years. Not sure about paint either.

Another +1 for RMG. I've been using Bob for the past couple years and he and his team is fantastic. Straightforward, tells you how it is, and really knows these cars.
You can see on his website every car he's working on recently: http://www.realmeangarage.net/images/index.php?m=a
