Default 997 Turbo

I have 19,500 miles on my 2010 911 Turbo and wondered if I really need a major service, or can it wait?

Yes, i think you do. Assuming these haven't been done so far, i'd do:
1. exhaust (no need to live with the oem embarassement )
2. spark plugs & coils
3. serpentine belt
4. break fluid flush
5. transmission, AWD, and front diff fluid change
6. cabin filter

Got my 08 with 9900 mi in 2015. Looked more at the age of the car not the miles. Sat in a warehouse most of its life so I went ahead for peace of mind and did the major. Good luck and enjoy ur ride.

REALLY timely post! I just called my dealer as my 2012 911 Turbo S has 14500 miles. They quoted me $3119 for the 4 year service. Wow, that seemed like a lot but I booked the appt. Then I thought... hmmm, I wonder. I called the other Porsche dealer across town and they quoted me $2500 instead! Both offered 10% off that price so for $619 less, I'm bringing it to the dealer across town. And, they're giving me a 2015 Panamera loaner for 2 days. So cool, I've always wondered what these cars were like. Now I get a chance for a really long 2 day test drive.

My dealer quoted me $2500 also.
So I guess that is the going rate.
Still wondering if I am better off trying to find and independent repair shop.
Any ideas for the western suburbs of Chicago?

Personally, I wouldn't bring my car to anyone but the dealer. My older 911's went to indies, not this car.

I purchase my own OEM parts and fluids from Amazon, ebay or Suncoast and bring them to the dealer. You'll save a lot of $$$$ over what they charge.

Which dealer did you decide on, if you don't mind me asking?

Hi I live in Napervillle. PM me your phone number and I'll give you a call to discuss. But, you should definitely consider using an Indy.

Why do you say this? I was thinking about an indie, just curious what your thoughts are on this, thanks! KH

Because the indies in my area suck! I've tried them all. I would never go back to any of them and I've used 6 at least. The mechanics and service I get from the local dealers seem much better to me, especially, the experience in general.

If I had a 12-15 year old car, maybe I'd use an indie again. My car is really complicated, I can't go back to the indies I've used in the DC Metro area. It's still under warranty as well (extended warranty). I trust my dealer here.

Gotcha, just curious . . . I have a good indie, but I am also, still tempted to go back to the dealer-- Cheers, KH
