I hate all white owners 997TT because I am jealous of you. Congrats and enjoy in good health, 997TT is definitely a step up from 996

Welcome aboard. Normally, I have not liked white on a Porsche. But, your car is beautiful. With white you can join the rest of us that account for the 5% of Porsches that are not black or silver!! But, white has got to be a rare color, for sure. Enjoy the beast.

That looks stunning in white.

What exhaust did you like the best with the 996TT? I'm still wanting to upgrade but it's impossible to hear them first.

Enjoy your new car!

Welcome! I recently made the move from the 996 side of the house to 997, regarding the exhaust, I made a few posts about SharkWerks, I'm in the Bay Area, so I care about SMOG-- Not overly brutal, I also have a review up on Yelp for SharkWerks if you are at all interested. Beautiful car, I would have loved to have bid against you KH

Thank you guys. Since I didn't get a PPI before purchase ( if i had i would have definitely missed on the deal) i had drop it off last week with my indy to go over the car and maje sure everthing is good on it. But just like any other 10 year old car it needed one if the coolant hoses to be changed and today he called me over and showed me that the WP has a small leak. So shes also in the process of getting a new water pump. I should have it back by Friday the latest. I had done all the wrenching on the 996 myself including a new clutch, but im still new to the TT and im a little scared to touch anything. I will get some more pics soon as i get it back.

I started with Fabspeed cat bypass pipes with stock exhaust and it was too loud, took those off and switched to Gemballa and it wasn't loud enough. I gundo hacked the Genballa cans and still the tone wasn't right. I Fistered my original cans (which is the same thing as gundo hack) and couldn't be more happier.

Here is the build sheet dealer printed for me. I wish the PO had saved the original window sticker.

Hope to see you Pasadena boys around. We should put together a Sunday Crest run soon as the gravel is gone from the road up there. I would hate to catch a patch of loose gravel on those twisties.

Congrats on the car.

Out of curiosity, how do you compare the 996 vs 997? I was going to buy a completely built 996 but ended up going with a higher mileage 997. It was a huge debate for me, because it was $10K more to get the 997 for "less" in a mod perspective.

Overall, I think I made the right decision, but still would love to hear your input!

996 and 997TT are completely different animals. I truly miss driving the 996 as it was very raw compared to the turbo. But the boost of the turbo is never disappointing and puts a stupid smile on my face every single time. Plus the exhaust note was amazing on the 996 and it truly sounded like a porsche, hopefully i will fix that on the 997 soon. If i were to get another DD and park the 997 as a weekend toy I wouldn't think twice on getting another 996.

Is Fister doing his magic on the 997TT yet? He's a legend!
I did my 993 C2S with Fister and it was amazing.

That was going to be my fist path as well, but another member checked with Darren and he doesn't have a solution for the 997T. I did the same for my 2002 C2, I loved the Fister exhaust and would do it again in a heartbeat-- KH
