997.2 Turbo PDK Launch control 0-60 best tires options for street car
Hey guys just wanting some feedback for the best tire options to get the best 0-60 on a Street driven 997.2 Turbo PDK with Tune + Exhaust
I have had Porsche recently do a PDK reprogram and the car has been performing better.
Considering Michelin Pilot Super Sports and Michelin Pilot CUP 2
note: R888 would be too hardcore for a street car
-I have heard some people after a tune have actually gotten slower 0-60 times on LC due to traction in 1st gear.
-Also some people who have changed to better tires found that there was some adaptation time to get better 0-60
-And others have found that with some wheelspin the car actually gets better 0-60 times.
Kind Regards
Rohan

0-60 depends so much on conditions it's very hard to compare. Obviously though, the stickier the tire the better your chances are. So if you're choosing PSS vs Cup 2, I'd say Cup 2 will give you a better time. However, when the tire isn't warmed up I'll bet the difference between PSS and Cup 2 will be negligible.

I'll stick with my PSS tires as I know they'll provide me with a wide range of benefits, to include good 0-60 times and tire life. I would concur that road conditions and ambient temperatures have much more impact on 0-60 times on the street.
Try short shifting, allowing the PDK to go into second sooner... However, honestly things are happening so fast that may be difficult...
Be sure to turn off the traction control...if left on, it can cause the enigine to pull back when the sensors respond to the tires loosing grip, leaving you with what feels like the engine is bogging for a split second.
Unless, you're using your car for some type of time event and you're trying to squeeze every 10th of a second, I'd recommend sticking with the PSS tires and work on launching techniques. JB
