Default Coolant tube question.

Sorry for another coolant tube question.

So my friend is a great welder I was wonder when I get him to weld the coolent tubes do we have to take them apart or can we weld them with out removing them?

I was going to get them apart then jb weld them in place then get him to weld them up for me is that over kill?

Im going this route instead of pinning them what do guys you think?

If you are going to weld them in, I would suggest removing those and getting new tubes that will be welded.

Wouldnt chance it with the old ones too much work

Google Porsche coolant pipe JB weld..
they knure the new pipes a bit so the JB weld has something to hold on too..Looks like a good fix..

Welding aluminum is tough.even on large pieces..That thin pipe will be difficult at best... I guess one small tack would be OK.. Along with the knurled and JB weld....Good luck

Don't mix the 2 methods, the heat from the weld could degrade the JB. A good welder can complete the weld, it is easier using the torque solutions pipe kit or something similar, as they add some flange area and are a bit thicker. That kit is not complete for a 997tt, so you have to reuse 1-2 pipes - remove, clean, then weld. Not too tough.
