Default Stripes on TT's - Not for Everyone

Posted on 6Speed...So figured I would copy here

Well...

Winter is here and I get bored not being able to drive the TT much or at all....So I start doing creative and sometimes silly things

I re-wrapped my front lip (TechArt style) with Carbon Fiber, and added racing stripes to the sides and front center. Hood is also wrapped in CF and has a Silver Badge, and back has my red "R", so I actually think it looks OK...Not for everyone....but the good news is, if I decide I do not like it, I can peel them all off Also painted Airbox, Y-Pipe Basalt Black Metallic and put red silicone pipes and stripes in the engine bay (done previously)...

Currently I am digging the look, but will see...

DC,
i like it. I've give some thought to doing accents on mine and having my CL40's painted to match just to mix things up too.

Good work!

Thanks! I actually bought regular automotive paint to match (Basalt Black Metallic) Base coat and clear coat. Same exact color as the care. Has been on there for a while and holding up wonderfully.

Nice! I thought it was powder coated. I never liked the plain silver look.

I think the graphics work very well and look good! The only thing I'd ditch is that R badge on the back. Not a fan of badging cars something they aren't.

Normally I don't like stripes; or gaudy body kits or partially wrapped body parts for that matter. I think it looks too teenage boy-racer. I usually like subtle and there isn't much subtle about Turbos or GTs stock. HOWEVER, I like what you have going on. Your Turbo is black so the carbon fiber hood is very subtle and classy. You didn't overdo the read or put big 911R-like stripes down the middle that are really only suited to the 911R. And although I think the "R" looks cool, it's not a 911R so I'd loose the badge.
This is all just my two cents.
