was the 09 a mid year car;

-mezger engine (same as 07-08) but with the -2 interior?

Not exactly the full interior - for example '09 still uses the .1 steering wheels - but yes the PCM system (nav, audio, phone) is the newer 3.0 version with touchscreen. The Bose system's amps are also different as I recall. Lots of detailed info here in the other threads.

The 2009 turbo was available with optional ventilated seats and optional center lock wheels, in addition to the newer PCM unit.

Very funny you posted this today - I was going to ask the exact same question!

I've seen 2009 referred to as the start of the 997.2, but the 997.2 turbo didn't start until 2010, correct?

Therefore all 2009 turbos are still tips?

Correct the 997.2 Turbo started in 2010 but the 997.2 NA started in 2009, hence the common confusion.

6MT or Tip trans were offered.
