I really wonder why my local P Specialist would tell me they're on the limit then. These guys have been around for ages and have a good reputation and surely wouldn't lie about something so blatant ? The tech who told me was also very experienced, having previously been a service manager at a dealership
Either that, or they were looking for a cheap pair of spares, but really, I'd hope that that's not the case...

I had the same question when I picked up a 997 TT recently, I'm going with the 3 circles, and micrometer measurements. When the rotors are toast, I'll slap on some Girodiscs.

There's also a company that rebuilds the ceramic rotors, much less than replacing, but sure how good they are when finished.
