I swear a black one was listed here within the last couple of months.

*edit*. Looks like that car was a cab.

Dumb question. Is the 997.1 TT body and the 997.2 TTS the exact same body?

Pretty close but not exactly.

Off the top of my head:
Front bumpers are slightly different...mainly in the lower grill area.
mirrors are different.
Rear bumper and tail lights are the largest difference from a quick glance.
Headlights are different but I believe the same physical shape.

Yes, other than mirrors, front bumper (lower grill area), has LED drl instead of foglights and the rear bumper/lights the outside is the same.

Headlights are the same unless you get dynamic cornering lights.

Interior is almost the same except for different PCM and center stack controls.

Exterior is easy to retrofit, interior PCM 3.0 requires some rewiring but is do-able.

I saw a 997 with a dark trim around the headlight instead of the silver trim... anyone know if that is a stock option or aftermarket? Looked really cool.

997 Speedster have a black trim instead of the default color.

Otherwise you can get the Techart headlight trim or replica one.

I felt fortunate to be able to get mine back in Nov of 2011. Someone ordered a 918, and didn't want to pick up the option on the TTS. I was able to order it in any color, and with any options. I picked GT Silver, as I really like that color. My previous 2007 TT was that, and my current Pano TT is also GT Silver. The white one is stunning--never thought I would like that, but sure do. The side intakes are not painted, but carbon fiber, as are the mirrors. I haven't seen one for sale on cars.com or Auto Trader in years.
Do any of you know how many of these were produced?? My dealer said there are only 30 of them in all of North America.

Have no idea on the what the price is on it since they don't come up often. The 997.2 TTS market is all over the place. I would say the average asking price is 100K, and it's depreciating as time goes on. At the end of the day it just depends on what someone is willing to pay for the green accents and the CF parts.

Huh... what a funny coincidence... I just saw one of these on the road the other day and in all honesty I thought it was some aftermarket treatment Didn't like it.

Looks are subjective though of course.
