Differences in 997.1 and 997.2 Turbo bumpers
A bit of information that may be helpful to someone in the future. Based on my experience, the parts guys at your local dealership are going to be of little help. In converting my 996tt front end to a 997tt front end, I acquired a used bumper cover from a local bumper refurbishing place, but they were not sure of the year model that it came from.
At the dealership when ordering grilles and lights to finish the bumper, no one had an idea what the differences were. The left and right grille inserts had different part numbers for the 997.1 vs. 997.2 but the pics on their exploded parts drawings looked exactly the same. They were the same price, so I ordered the 997.1 parts on the assumption that the used bumper likely came from an older car. Well, the pictures below show the differences:
You can see that the 997.1 grille inserts have something missing. It appears that the grille inserts for the later bumpers had a different angle slat that went into the molded recesses. This gives the 997.2 grilles a more flush look:
<a href="http://s271.photobucket.com/user/byroninatlanta/media/IMG_1396_zpsz11jbg0q.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj149/byroninatlanta/IMG_1396_zpsz11jbg0q.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_1396_zpsz11jbg0q.jpg"/></a>
So I ordered in the 997.2 grille inserts only to discover that they did not come with the slats that went flush into the recesses. And the parts guys at my local dealership could not tell me what was missing. Their drawing left them scratching their heads. I ended up having to go to an online Porsche parts catalog to find the missing pieces. Turns out, each side has two clip-on slats, maybe 7-8 inches long.....and here's the kicker.....they cost as much as the entire grille insert itself!!!
In retrospect, I could have had my bodyshop grind off the recess in the bumper cover so I could have just used the 997.1 grilles, and saved myself over $300!!! And to add insult to injury.....the dealership wouldn't take back the 997.1 grilles because we had thrown away the "original packaging" (plastic bags)! Hopefully this information will help someone down the line.

The center grille (Porsche calls them Retaining Frames) is 9975055410401C
Right and left grilles are 9975055630601C and 9975055640601C
And the parts that my guy couldn't seem to locate were the "Vanes titanium metallic", 997505764509B1 and 997505763509B1

I am also looking for the slats for the 997.2 bumper and couldn't find the part number anywhere, so there are four of the slats, do they all have different part numbers? or are each part numbers you posted for a set of two?

This is the thread I have been looking for. I have a 997t.1. The car is factory stock aero package which means the front slats in the bumper are white. It makes the car look like it has small teeth. I am going to get the zunpsort front grilles in black but either need to plasti dip the slats black or have them replaced with oem black ones. I realize the bumper comes off for this but that is not a huge deal. Can anyone give me the part number for the original black oem slats? I would rather just swap in new ones then paint the original one etc. in the unlikely case that I hate it and want to go back to stock. Also feel like given all the nooks and crannies that plasti dip on the slats might be a pain too. Part numbers or advice very welcome. Thanks!
