I ended up doing the same thing and buying a model that isn't the same color as my 996 C4S. My 996 was Midnight Blue Metallic with Natural Brown Leather interior. It's not perfect, but I like the fact that it's the same model as I owned.

Red does not exist. They only made yellow and grey.

Hmm, I supposes I'm going to have trouble finding a 997.2TT in Amethyst...

Does anyone have a view on what is the best 997.2TT diecast, as I'm willing to have a go at a respray...?

First post gives you both choices for the /2 in 1/18. Both blue.

For the 997/1 there is an other option that became available (replaced the grey maybe ?)
I took the above picture of the leaflet at Sema Las Vegas in Nov.2006, the year the 997 turbo was launched.

Here is a white one :

I received one for Christmas that would presumably fit the bill -- a 997TT in red, 1/24th scale. Made by Joy City. Good quality and reasonably authentic (even has PCCB's! Wish mine did!). I didn't immediately see one in red on their website, but was told it was purchased on eBay. Based on a quick scan, I didn't immediately find the same one on eBay, but here is a similar one.
