Default Problem with daytime running lights

one day I noticed that on my 2011 997.2 my daytime running lights (the row of white lights under the headlights are not coming on when the switch is in off or home the fog lights or single round light coming on but not the row of light)

also noticed when I put left or right turn signal on the amber side markers blink but after 14 blinks the single white strobe flashes very quickly and off like a camera flash in the row of the daytime running lights.

the daytime running light option is checked on in the pcm.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

I am assuming your car is a turbo. If so, the LED DRLs are the two round lights that look like a fog light. The stock turn signal LED lights do not function as DRLs.

The LEDs strips underneath the headlights are the turn signals. There is also a small running light in the assembly. The round lights lower in the bumper are the DRLs. There are aftermarket kits available to convert the turn signals to function as DRLs in addition to turn signals.

thanks that's how mine is, so when you turn on the turn signal mine flashes yellow in the strip then flashes once after the side marker lights blinks 6 times, is your the same way?

Mine is a 997.1, so I don't have DRLs. My side markers don't flash at all, only the LED turn signals flash. Something sounds a little bit odd for your car.

On my 2011 TTS, the row of leds only act as turn signals. I asked the dealer about them being DRLs and he said the round lower light is the DRL.

2011 TTS

Car running headlights off, turn signal on: Six amber lights flashing, 1 white off, DRL on

Car running headlights on, turn signal on: Six amber lights flashing, 1 white on, DRL off

Never are all 7 white LEDs on

Thanks RJ for taking the time, I definitely have a problem with mine the yellow leds don't flash in sequence with side markers the flash every 6 times and the white led flashes like a strobe, I guess I have to take it to the dealer
