Good to hear, I've been on the fence with this for a couple months since I DD my car, don't track, and generally drive casually, just give it gas here or there and enjoy twisties at moderation. NJ roads can be hell at times so last thing I want is to jounce around over bumps. Not sure this unit would make a huge difference for me.

ok, got the box back from tpc...wait, no I didn't.

They were generous enough to send me a new box with their latest software. It was very generous of them and the turn around was impressive (it got to them on friday).

Installed it and thought, oh crap, its not working, as pressing the button didn't make the light flash. Seems the latest software requires a 1 second push, which Tom quickly explained to me.

Drove the car about 1/4 of a mile, so will have to wait for a full review, but it definitely feels better than the old version in the few bumps I hit.

I took my TT for a long drive today after the install and I am a believer, it definitely handles better..so I am in the camp that it is a worthwhile mod, therefore worth the $$. Adding the GT2 sway bar soon too.

Had this mod since a few months after it came out. Difference is day and night. Great product.

Ok kids, short quasi review.

I'm not sure if its the new software or the bit of custom tuning done by TPC, but the ride in comfort mode is much improved from the previous version. Its a bit firmer than stock, which I'm not thrilled with, but the difference is much less dramatic, which is exactly what I wanted.

I only spent a few minutes in the sport modes since I've been driving the 993 more, but so far so good on that (note that I thought these were good on the previous module).

So, at this point, I'd say that this unit is not essential if you use the car as a daily driver and you only occasionally go to curvy roads or the track (especially if those roads/track are not bumpy).

If you use it as an aggressive weekend car, don't mind a firmer ride, or go to the track a lot, its probably a no brainer.

What 993 do you have?

Btw I just picked up a TPC from TT Surgeon. Haven't installed it yet. Will do so later this week.

Mine is a DD, but i'm not a fan of Sport mode at all and am hoping it gets rid of the bumpy ride in sport mode. Doesn't feel planted with the firm PASM on. Looking for firm and to get rid of the "floaty" feeling.

You should be pleased with it then. I like a softer ride in standard mode.

I have a 96 993 Turbo

thanks man. 993TT is fantastic and loads of fun. I have some mild mods, but still prefer it for fun weekend driving. 997TT is faster, no doubt, but too controlled, too easy, etc. I like having to work for my speed in the 993.

enjoy the DSC, I think you'll like it.

Im sure someone else will have this question...

Confirmed with TPC that the box is the same for both the 997.1 and 997.2 turbo models. Includes S and GT2. The cardboard box might have a .1 or .2 sticker but it doesnt matter.

There are also yellow and white dsc boxes. The yellow was just and earlier hardware run and their supplier switched to white. They are the same. That being said if you have a yellow box it might have older software. Hopefully the user upgrade software comes out soon and everyone will get on the same stuff. But yellow or white all still work on turbos.

Not sure what TPC review to piggy back onto, but I guess this is the most appropriate since I purchased mine from TTSurgeon.

I only installed it a couple of days ago. I'll first mention that the install was confusing as there is a similar box at the back of the footwell on the passenger side. I thought that was the box and was attempting to remove it, I got a bit frustrated! Glad I didn't remove it! I finally discovered that the box is on the passenger SIDE of the footwell up on a shelf. You just press the clip down and the box will eventually slide out. It really was a 5 minute install. Getting it to clip in was a little tricky. I wanted to slap myself for not figuring this out sooner.

However my review and thoughts. I definitely noticed the floaty feeling is near gone. The car feels more planted and I feel the road better in all 3 modes. The comfort setting I think is great. No Float and not too bumpy. However I have a hard time telling the difference between mode 2 and mode 3. My butt-sensors are only so sharp. I do have to try out the car more on some fun roads to really provide any valuable 2cents.

As for value, $1200 is a bit steep for this unit. But at the end of the day it gets the job done and the car does feel more compliant and stable in the turns so with that said, it's worth getting it because the car now handles more like it should have from the factory. The price is worth getting rid of that "floaty" feeling and stock PASM in sport mode was awful and bumpy, I NEVER used it. Now using settings 2 and 3 feel great. I hit bumps but don't get jostled around.

So would I get it again if I had to choose now after using a bit. Yes. It's worth it.

gang, I just used the user adjustable software that tpc is starting to roll out.

this was an absolute game changer for me.

I did not care for a stiffer ride on the normal setting, while I liked the better performance on modes 2 and 3. Given that my car is a daily driver, it made me want to sell the module as i just wasn't happy with the ride quality in normal.

so, I used this software to put in 2000ma from 0-10% with 800 fr and 750 rear at 100% and let it extrapolate the rest.

Finally I can have it all. I didn't mess with the G tables as that seems more complicated, but this adjustability is fantastic.

question for DSC guys. Can I mess with settings while the box is plugged in to the car (obviously with the key out)?

Thanks so much for this software, it really makes this mod worthwhile to me.

I guess I wasn't even aware this was available and assume this is a different box? I don't see anything similar on their site.
