Turbo production numbers
Here are worldwide turbo coupe production numbers I found in Total 911 magazine. Does anyone know how worldwide production is distributed to the regions? What is % destined for US?

From what I recall, the US market has been reported as half of the world-wide sales. From the completed 997.1 Turbo analysis for the number of these cars in the US, there were 5482 coupes and 3387 cabs for a total of 8869, which leads to 46% (i.e., 8869/19201 X100%). That's close to half...

OK, but my data was just for coupes also... So using the USA sales 997.1 turbo data (5482) yields 28% sales to USA (5482/19201)... So either one of the data sets is off, or US sales to US is about a third... Anybody know of a Porsche document (annual report or something...) that breaks out sales by region?
In any event, 78,000 turbo coupes over 40 years is not many...

Haha, no worries man, you were the one who motivated me to go search for the data after I read your excellent report on the 997.1 coupes.
I just want the data to prove how rare these cars are in the US... I mean even 1000 turbos a year in the US is nothing... Should bode well for values down the line...

I just stumbled across this, sorry for being late!
I'm not sure if those numbers are correct, the 996TTS production numbers certainly aren't - the number (1563) is correct, but that's all TTSs (600 coupes and 963 convertibles)

Currently I am looking for worldwide production numbers for the 991 GT3RS. The only thing Total 911 has published so far is 60 of them in UK. Does your source have GT cars?

Where are you getting your numbers? I am always on the lookout for good production numbers for the specialty Porsches. Mine were from Total 911 magazine, and they specifically said coupes. Of course they could be wrong too. Interesting how the total (coupes and cabs) matches though...

Here's the link I've used for 996TT US sales. PCNA is the source.

I have a similar link for 997TT if I can find it. Again this is US only figures.

Regarding 991RS- From speaking with a source who is employed with Porsche (I know.. I know... take it with a grain of salt is all I can say..) the 991RS has higher profit margin than any GT car produced, and between the high profit margin and extremely high demand that as of December planned production numbers had been increased twice. Worldwide number will probably fall between 5000-6000 cars. Gotta fill that hole in the VW balance sheet somehow I suppose?
