Hi folks,
I already let you folks know that I bought the car. It finally came today after waiting a few weeks for it. It was completely off the truck when it came to the Lowes store near my house, the only place big enough for him to park.
When I first saw it, I was thinking - yep, just what the doctor ordered. Looks very similar to the 96 C4S I just sold after 13 years of ownership and a 88 Carerra for 5 years before that. The same lines were still there, just beefed up a bit.
I got in and the A/C was on high... it worked REALLY well. My last car had not so great A/C and for a couple of months each year (or more) it simply wouldn't work or had intermittent problems. This car just cranks out A/C like it's going out of style. For that reason alone it was worth the upgrade. I'm sure there are a ton of other reasons, one being that I don't have to shift anymore with my bum knee.
Can't wait to get it out and go driving but for now, I'm going to sit at home and study the manual. I can't even figure out how to save an XM radio station preset channel at this point after playing with it for 10 minutes. It's all good though. I'm so blessed and thrilled to have my dream car. I will never need a newer Porsche now unless this one gets totaled. Not sure whether I should get the 7yrs /70000 miles warranty or the 7 yrs /100000 miles warranty for $1100 more.
I may like it so much that I rarely step into my family sedan again and put A LOT of miles on it. My guess is that I'll keep it as a garage queen and only drive it a few days a week but after driving it around for 20 minutes in my neighborhood today, I never want to get out of this car. It's just like my old one but sweetly upgraded just as I would have wanted it.
SCARY LARGE PICTURE ALERT!!!!! BEWARE. Not sure why they came out so darn big.
I thought after a bitter divorce 5 years ago that I would be financially screwed for the rest of my life. It turned out a bit differently.

Thanks folks. I'd hate to say thanks guys if there's some women Turbo owners on this forum. Are there a few? It didn't seem like there were many if any.
I ordered my first mod, Lloyd's floor mats with the Turbo S embroidery in triple black. Black mats, black nylon on the edges and black Turbo S. Total stealth. I got the front hood mat too, just to be silly about it.
Thinking about the personalized plate AIKO. Will think long and hard about it. I don't want to drum up any attention but it's a Grateful Dead song and only Deadheads would get it. I put my Grateful Dead Steal Your Face Sticker in the rear window like all my other cars I've ever had. It kind of softens the car up a bit. This is my old car with it on...
