Want to Trade: 1998 993 S for 2009 or later 997TT
No stories 2-owner 993 S needs nothing; new Bilstein HD's, M030 springs, Walrod bushings, new rotors and pads (all done at 80,000 miles); new Continental Sport Contact DW tires put on at 82,000 miles; new clutch; new plugs and wires; now with 83,xxx miles; black over classic gray.
Want a 6MT in a 2009 or later turbo. Open to most color combos but prefer GT silver, Speed Yellow, Meteor. Less inclined towards red, white, black, midnight blue (but like most other shades of blue).
Located in Louisville, KY.

I am sure. I have owned both a 2009 Turbo and a 2006 C2S. I prefer the interior (PCM specifically) on the 2009 and later models over the volcano gray plastic parts of the 2005-2008 cars. I'm not so concerned with 997.1 v 997.2.

Couldn't agree more. It's amazing what the PCM3 does for interior looks.

I did something similar, I bought my 2009 turbo and sold a 993 C4. I could easily afford to keep both but I like my house and I'm not moving just to get a bigger garage. For me, I have regrets but it was the right decision. Were I in your position, I think I'd keep the 993 unless you intend to put miles on the TT.
My reasoning is that you already have a Cayman GTS and a 997 GT3 RS 4.0, a TT is another "new" Porsche and doesn't really add anything appreciably different to your driving experience. If you know what I mean? Yes, it's fast but so are your other ones. Yes it has bluetooth and nav and satellite radio (or whatever) but so do your other ones. The 993 is clearly a different car and offers a different experience.
If you're intending to use the TT as a daily then ignore what I just said, it's a great daily driver and I wouldn't feel bad about putting miles on it. If it's being driven a few times a month I'd say just keep the 993 S and have a change of pace option for your weekend drives.

The 993 is a lot of fun in spirited driving, but not much fun to drive in typical city's traffic. As pure456 mentioned, the 997 is a much better daily driver. Since 80% of my driving time will be in stop and go traffic in the city, a 997 makes better sense to me. And since I need the back seat for my son, a 997 Turbo seems to hold value better than other S models.
I also found that with the rising of the 993 value day after day, I became very hesitant to drive the car.
For your case I saw that you also have a Cayman GTS and a GT3 RS 4.0. If I was you I would not trade a 993 S for a 997 Turbo. For a daily driver I will go with the GTS. For the need for speed I will go with the RS 4.0. To go to a classic car show I will take the 993 S as it is the best looking 911 ever.

add me to the "sold the 993 and kept the .1 Turbo list"
Yeah, kinda surprises me too.
The only thing I really miss about the 993 are the 5 lovely dash gauges.
