997.1 Cabriolet Production Numbers, Colors and Where to Buy
In a separate thread, I used statistics on the VIN taken from US cars for sale on Autotrader/eBay to determine the production numbers for 997 turbos, which remains in progress for the 997.2 cars. The 997.1 cabriolet analysis is now complete and below are a summary of the production numbers including those with MT, the most popular exterior and interior colors as well as the states that have the most 997.1 cabs for sale. 2008 Cabriolet
Number built with US VIN >/= 2,681
Percent MT/Tip = 43%/57%
Number built with MT >/= 1,162
2009 Cabriolet
Number built with US VIN >/= 706
Percent MT/Tip = 35%/65%
Number built with MT >/= 248

I had a guy offer 62 for my 2008 with 47,000 miles over the weekend. I was getting a cup of coffee and just started a conversation with the guy.

I see that no brown turbo cabriolets showed up in your analysis. I guess that explains the reason that mine is the only one that I've ever seen!

Brown is a rare color, in fact I don't think I've ever seen one in person on any 997! I was surprised too that Sea Blue is a rare interior color, which I have on my car. I think it pops with silver, but I guess others are much less enthusiastic.

I'll bet that Sea Blue looks really good... I haven't ever seen that color in person.
