Adding a multi function steering wheel to a 2008?
Guys, my 2008 Turbo does not have a multi function wheel.
Does anyone know if the wiring harness supports multi function? I would like to add a wheel to get at a minimum volume control...

My turns left and right and it goes honk honk. That's multi-function in my books. LOL
They are very functional though - when installing I hope you are ensuring that the battery is totally disconnected before you change the steering wheel. Good luck!

HELP!
I assume I'll need a new wheel and a new airbag to swap away from my fugly 997.1 MF steering wheel, installing a 997.2 or similar Sport Design wheel.
Is it (un) plug n' play, or should I expect broken circuit error messages after install?

It wont be plug and play. You need to replace the control module in the column and have it coded if you want the horn to work. Not a big deal.
Cincy as far as cost it depends. I found a wheel with bag on ebay for $1200 and the module cost like $150. coding cost like another $100 from an indy shop. I sold my old wheel for $800 so it only really cost like $650.

Hi Lux
Thanks. Mine was a non multi sport wheel (large round bag). Mine is a 09 tip tt so just really wanted the paddles. Nothing crazy has to be done. The wheel swap itself is a ten min job. The module could take up to an hour depending on how you go about it. You can either snake it out with everything attached or take all the stalks off and then remove it. The coding takes twenty min from either a dealer or indy. The hard part is getting the wheel and bag for a fair price. There is a wheel on ebay now but he wants too much for it. I would shoot for around 11 or 12 hundred for both. The red stripe I did myself.
Hope the info was helpful.
