Rock mind I ask your profession? You're posts are always 10/10

btw i'm not clear on the purpose of the Pressure Tester & Intercooler Test DIY Guide. Doesn't look like it's hooked up to the car. Not familiar with this test.

Hi There...And thanks! Glad they are useful and thanks for the compliment.

My "Day" job is, I lead a Data and Information Strategies / Business Intelligence group for a Fortune 50 Financial Services organization...That is about all I can say without violating compliance rules I am also in the process of purchasing an Auto Franchise (since I enjoy the cars ....This will be my side job until I either lose all my money, or can grow it and retire to do that full time...Hopefully choice "B"...haha

Good point on the tester. It is suggested that when you change the IC's you should pressure test them to ensure no leaks, before actually installing them...Thus my inclusion in the DIY. That said....You can actually use that same tester/process to test the system on the car. Simply remove the boot hoses with the hose clamps at each turbo (cool side) and insert these devices there. Pressurize the one and check the gauge on the other side, and/or listen for leaks (or watch the gauge go down). I think there are a few posts that document that procedure also...This is just my hobby to relax...and I enjoy it and like to learn...I am certainly no expert....

Take care,
DC

Hi...Thanks. I am starting with a service organization....And a well established Franchise to hopefully help with the chance of success....While Franchises add costs in the form of royalties...they have an ~80% success rate , where start-ups have a 20%....so you can see why I picked this route.

Excited and a little nervous at the same time

Thank you for the post Rock. Although I may not do many of these jobs, I always learn a lot about my car from reading them. Porsches are life long learning... It makes me enjoy my car more too!

Thanks, DC.. I've used a couple of those in the past and certainly appreciate the effort it took to make them.

Agreed. DCs contributions are why these types of forums are awesome. Real content with mechanical skills. For 10 years, I've done DIYs on BMW forums including installing a twin screw supercharger. To this day, folks PM me for question on threads that are years old.

I still do car work on the side by word of mouth but my dream is to own a performance shop.
