Same here, my natural grey still looks new after 27k miles.

That's normal and not a defect, all natural leathers do this. Leather jacket, leather watch strap, etc.

Maybe the previous owner of your 996 used products that he shouldn't have ??
Have really no idea why your expierence is so different from others with natural leather. But since car is gone it's not important of course.

Here a picture of my brown/alcantara interior, love it !!!

Can you post pics of what natural grey looks like?

You installed the GT2 Bucket seats? Are they comfortable enough for a DD? Or do you not DD your turbo? Interior looks clean after 25k miles.

EDIT: Nevermind saw you're not in the US so that was an option for Euro spec cars.

Nevertheless I can reply

Yes, I installed the GT2 seats, found them cheap over the German Porsche forum, they were black racing tissue and had them redone. They are very comfortable if you are of normal posture. I do not DD my turbo, car has only 28000 km (17500 miles) so far.

Here you can see pictures of dark grey natural leather : http://www.rennteam.com/forum/page1....bv34rxpoy?vs=0

My car when I bought it in 2012:

Ah so the grey leather was a natural grey. I like that grey. I test drove a manual 2010 turbo that was dark blue with that grey interior. It was extremely nice. I was wondering why hardly any cars have that leather. They are all either black or tan. See for the 991 they should have kept that grey instead of the agate grey interior. The natural grey is my favorite interior color for any porsche (short of what gemballa and techart do with the interiors).

Because brown and dark grey was a paying option that most buyers did not feel necessary. Most have no idea how nice 'natural leather' is.

Natural leathers in Porsche are actually pretty nice and feel, smell and look like the kind of leather you would see in a Ferrari. I have 7+ years of usage out of my Natural Brown leather and it still looks great. Albeit it has developed some patina...The mistake I made was ordering leather on the door sills...the smart thing I did was ordering the headliner in natural leather too.

The standard leather in Porsche is great, but a little bit too much like the Mercedes leather and made for durability...

I have to say that Denis and Dennis are both correct!!!!

When you are already paying this much what is another 1000? Penny pinching at this level is ridiculous.

I wouldn't go that far to say it's like Ferrari, but it's pretty good. So far the best leather work I have seen from the factory is from Bentley. But only if someone really put some work in the configurator. Not if they just picked all black or whatever came with the car.

Yea virtually every leather option you could get is there, even the rear view mirror is covered in leather, seat backs, etc.
